MCi is commercialising its carbon platform technology in various industrial sectors such as cement, steel making, waste-to-energy, minerals processing, manufacturing and energy. We build our Carbon Plants to capture their CO2 emissions directly from flue or take captured CO2 and convert it into valuable materials then sell to manufacturers and construction product customers.
MCi offers several types of business models to fit with our customers investment strategies for decarbonization and emissions abatement. Not one size fits all, MCi tailors its Carbon Plants to integrate with our customers' operations and we optimise the techno-economics to deliver a cost effective solution to reducing their emissions.
MCi employs a rapid assessment methodology to allow us to engage with a potential customer and assess the suitability of our technology to their circumstances. This approach significantly reduces the cost and effort of both parties in determining preliminary feasibility and product fit.
Our carbon platform is now transitioning through the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) from demonstration (TRL7) to industrial scale (TRL 8 & 9). We are assessing candidates locations for our first industrial scale plants in Australia and around the world.
MCi is currently building its first demonstration scale Carbon Plant to be operational in mid 2023. It will be co-located with an ammonia plant which currently captures around 300kt of CO2 pa. MCi's Carbon Plants are being designed to scale to remove from tens of thousands to more than one million tonnes of CO2 per year in any single customer site.
We are also working with downstream industrial manufacturers signing up to use our low carbon materials in their new product formulations including cement, concrete, plasterboards, fire retardants, novel binders and climate adaptation products.
We are actively forming strategic partnerships to assist in commercial validation and deployment of our technology globally as we build out our pipeline of global customers for our Carbon Plants, in our race to net zero emissions.
