MCi Carbon (MCi or the Company) has bid farewell to non-executive director Samantha Tough, expressing gratitude for her unique insights from the resources sector.
Simultaneously, the company welcomes seasoned professional Matt Howell as a
non-executive director, bringing extensive experience in clean energy and the
global metals industries.
Matt currently serves as a Director at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), a role he has held since May 2022. In this position, he contributes to the advancement of clean energy projects and initiatives, promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
In addition to his role at the CEFC, Matt is a past Member of the Technology Investment Advisory Council, further demonstrating his commitment to fostering innovation and technological advancements in the field of clean energy. Matt held the position of CEO at Tomago Aluminium Company from 2013 to 2022. Under his leadership, the company underwent a remarkable transformation, becoming the largest and most efficient aluminium smelter in Australasia. His role as CEO was pivotal in ensuring the success and sustainability of the company. Concurrently, Matt was a Director of the Australian Aluminium Council, the peak industry association representing the Australian aluminium industry.
Before his roles in the aluminium industry, Matt had a 28 year career and gained valuable international experience as the Group General Manager Smelting at Nyrstar, based in Zurich, Switzerland. He had responsibility for Nyrstar's global smelting operations, overseeing primary smelters in multiple countries and joint ventures in Australia and China. Prior to that he held General Manager roles in multiple countries.
